E-line Junction

In E-line junction, Indiana, kruizen twee belangrijke verbindingslijnen. De Chicago – Terre Haute lijn, die door New York Central en Milwaukee Road gezamelijk wordt geexploiteerd, en de E-line, waar de Pennsylvania Railroad en Santa Fé de dienst uitmaken.

In E-line junction, Indiana, two important bridgelines intersect. There is the Chicago – Terre Haute line, jointly operated by the New York Central and Milwaukee Road, and the E-line, jointly operated by the Pennsylvania Railroad and Santa Fé.

De E-line ontleed zijn naam aan de Effner & Eastburn Railroad. Begonnen als interurban werd de lijn belangrijker als verbinding tussen Logansport (Ind) en Peoria (Ill). Het grote voordeel is dat goederentreinen de  drukke omgeving rond Chicago kunnen passeren zonder vertragingen. De voornaamste lokale klant is de grainsilo van Archill Food

E-line gets its name from the Effner & Eastburn Railroad. The E—line started as an Interurban but became more important as bridge line between Logansport (Ind) and Peoria (Ill). The biggest advantage is that the E-line bypasses the congested Chicagoland. There is little local traffic. Nearly all the local traffic comes from the small Archill Food grain elevator
E-line junction  bestaat uit twee kleine (91,5 x 30,5cm) oNetrak modules met een verbindingsspoor tussen beide lijnen. De modules zijn te gebruiken als hoekmodule maar ook om aan vier zijden andere modules te koppelen

E-line junction is build of two small (3’ x 1’) oNetrak modules with a connection track between both lines. So it’s possible to us it as a simple corner module but it can also act, what’s in the name, as junction between both lines.
